For this years main hiking event we traveled to the Scottish Highlands to walk on the Great Glen Way. We did not walk the entire route but rather chose to walk between Inverness and Fort Augustus. This part of the trek where close to the well know lake called Loch Ness. We had high hopes to see ‘Nessy’. From Fort Augustus we travelled by bus to Fort William where we stayed for three days. One of theses days we managed to reach the top of the highest mountain in Scotland, Ben Nevis. I must say that it is well worth the effort.
